Two towns, alike in dignity, sit across from one another in the plains of a land long forgotten by those who care about "science" and "progress". On one side, they elegantly write in elf-ish, on the other, they proudly enscribe with dwarf-ish. Both of these small villages know the other will eventually fall to their own hubris, so until that day, they guard the river crossing and await the day of judgment.
